Brandywine River Museum of Art: An Artistic Homage to the Brandywine Valley, Not Far From Meetinghouse

November 12, 2015

Artists from all over the world have been drawn to the Brandywine Valley to capture its beauty. But you don’t have to travel across the globe to enjoy its beauty; the Brandywine Valley is practically at the doorstep of your home at Meetinghouse. The same can be said for the Wyeth family, who devoted their talents to depicting this valley. Artists Andrew, Jamie, and N.C. Wyeth have galleries dedicated entirely to their renderings of the local flora and fauna at the Brandywine River Museum.

The museum showcases mostly American art from the 19th and 20th century, particularly those pieces that represent the beauty of the Brandywine Valley. From portraits and still-life paintings to photos and drawings, the permanent collection really runs the gamut in terms of masterpieces. Plus, the museum plays host to visiting exhibits that give guests a deeper look into the landscape that surrounds them when they visit the museum.
