April’s showers (and snowstorms) are finally bringing the May flowers at Penns Woods Winery, and it’s time to celebrate—with sangria. Every weekend in May through August, the bartender in the Penns Woods’ taproom will pour glasses of the house’s fresh, fruity sangria. The refreshing sip will serve as the perfect complement to live music, which will also come to the winery each weekend.
If you’re looking for a way to work off all that sangria, register for the Run the Vineyard 5K on May 19th or 20th. You’ll actually get to explore the vineyard’s vines and dirt trails as you weave throughout its flourishing fields. And what’s waiting for you at the finish line? An after-party, complete with more live music, a souvenir wine glass for every participant, and, of course, a full spectrum of fine wines. Local food trucks Sum Pig and The Tot Cart will be on hand on May 20th to serve up food, too.
