Washington, D.C. isn’t the only place where cherry blossoms burst into bloom each spring. Philly has its fair share of the vibrant pink-petaled trees, and they’re currently making their springtime debut throughout the city. That’s why the The Subaru Cherry Blossom Festival of Greater Philadelphia is set for April 6th to 14th.

Philadelphia received its own gifts of cherry trees from Japan in 1926, and many of them still flourish in Fairmount Park. Come to the Shofuso Japan House and Garden to see them up close and enjoy a variety of internationally inspired activities. Learn how to craft origami, master the art of sushi-making, and enjoy live drumming performances at the Cherry Blossom Festival. Don’t forget to grab tickets ($10+) to Sakura Sunday on April 14th, when a lineup of nonstop entertainment comes to the Fairmount Park Horticulture Center.
