One of our missions at Kaiserman Company is to be good stewards of the planet. We make investments at all our communities which increase energy efficiency and improve sustainability.
In individual Meetinghouse apartments, we’ve installed replacement windows and doors with double pane glass with improved insulation, and they were custom fit so they seal well.
When we renovate individual apartments, we always install:
- ENERGY STAR appliances
- Toilets that use less than 1 gallon of water per flush
- Programmable thermostats
Throughout the community we use:
- CFL bulbs in common areas
- LED lighting in outdoor fixtures
- Collected rain water for watering our landscaping
At Meetinghouse, and all of our properties, we are focused on recycling. At our last recycling party, over 360 pounds of paper and electronic waste was recycled. Our new single stream recycling bins allow everything to be recycled together, which has substantially increased the amount of material that avoids the landfill.
We are very excited about our most recent initiative: we are now offering all Meetinghouse residents who renew their leases with Energy Crushers, devices that plug into a standard outlet and reduce energy consumption by at least 8%.
These are just some of the projects that represent a $5 million dollar investment we’ve made across our portfolio.
