Has it been a long week? Why not breathe a little and head out for a fun adventure with the kids? Philadelphia offers plenty of great, family-friendly things to do, if you know where to look. Wrangle everyone together and make the short trip from Meetinghouse to visit these great Philadelphia sites that'll keep you and your kids happy:
Please Touch Museum
There are interactive museums, and then there's Please Touch Museum. Their mission is to help create learning opportunities for children through playing. Kids can run and explore, build, take apart, fly, and more. You'll find interesting exhibits including mazes, a Flight Fantasy exhibit and more.
Smith Memorial Playground
Smith Memorial Playground offers a safe place for kids to have fun. Head to this 6 1/2 acre playground to find the Ann Newman Giant Wooden Slide and over 50 more fun structures children can play on. Children five and younger can explore the Playhouse, a 16,000-square foot, fun-filled space where kids can explore and play. Smith Memorial Playground is completely free of charge.
Philadelphia Zoo
What better way to explore than to head to the zoo? The Philadelphia Zoo houses over 1,300 animals, many endangered, on its 42-acre facility. Families can explore primate, reptile and bird facilities, and much more. Head to the designated KidZooU space, and you'll find a safe place designed to teach children about conservation while introducing them to a great variety of animals.
