Just across the Pennsylvania state line, you'll find Bellevue State Park, a 300-acre park in Wilmington that's maintained by the state of Delaware. The park takes its name from Bellevue Hall, the historic estate of William du Pont, Jr. that still sits on the site. Complemented by the beauty of the grounds, the mansion's grandeur is a popular wedding venue.
Of course, you'll be just as welcome at Bellevue State park in athletic gear as you would in black tie. Lace up your sneakers to break a sweat on the park's 1-1/8 mile fitness track. A catch-and-release fishing pond is encircled by the fitness track, and bicycling paths have a home here, as well. Equestrians can perfect their posting trot at Wellspring Farm, Bellevue State Park's equestrian facility, while tennis pros can practice their backhand on the eight outdoor clay courts of the park's tennis facility.
A natural oasis not too far from Meetinghouse, Bellevue State Park is open every day from 8 a.m. to sunset.
