If you’ve decided to get a real holiday tree this year for the first time, you might have a few things to learn. In order to find the perfect tree to take home to Meetinghouse, check out these tips:
- Plan ahead. Before you leave to pick out the tree, think about where you are going to put it and measure the width of the area and the ceiling. Having numbers in mind will help you find a tree that’s just the right size.
- Check out the base. You’ll want to make sure the tree will fit in a tree stand so don’t forget to measure the base. The trunk should be at least six inches long and as straight as possible.
- Shake the tree. Grab any branch and shake it. If only a few needles fall off, that’s usually a sign that the tree will keep its smell and color.
- Measure again. Once you’ve found the tree, measure the circumference and height to make sure it’s a few inches smaller than the space you measured in your home.
