Rose Tree Park, not far from Meetinghouse, sprawls out across 120 acres of open space in Media, just a stone’s throw away from Boothwyn. And in addition to its breathtaking greenery and wildlife, the park also boasts its fair share of history. Three historically significant buildings reside at the park: the Hunt Club, the Leedom House, and the Rose Tree Tavern. The Rose Tree Tavern might be the most important, given that it’s been around since 1737. Although it’s undergone renovations, it retains the vintage feel of the original building and now houses the Delaware County Visitor’s Bureau.
Nearby, a community garden flourishes under the green thumbs of people from all around the area. Check out what’s growing or come to Rose Tree Park for a concert. Its picturesque outdoor amphitheater hosts concerts all summer long every Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night. They’re free, so bring the whole family and a few lawn chairs along.
