In 1957, the Clayton family donated 59 acres of land to Delaware County. The locals and visitors to the area still reap the benefits of the generous contribution when they spend time at Clayton Park. These days, the park features 170 acres of community spaces and nature preserves, and even includes a nine-hole golf course.
Although it may be too cold at the moment to enjoy to its fullest extent, keep it in mind and head there the moment spring arrives. If you want to get the kids out of your Meetinghouse apartment or you’d simply like to spend some time outside, venture to Clayton Park. Stroll through the rolling greens and scenic woodlands and then venture to the recreation area. That’s where you can play baseball, soccer, or a pick-up game of flag football on one of the four grassy fields. When it’s time for lunch, enjoy your meal at one of the picnic areas. Those into golf might make a special trip to Clayton Park to play a round on the nine-hole course. Taking a few swings on the the well-maintained course will cost you just about $1 per hole.
