You might not know the name N.C. Wyeth, but chances are you know his work. He was a prolific illustrator for 70 years, creating the artwork that graces the covers of iconic pieces of literature like the 1911 version of Treasure Island. Artist and writer Douglas Allen has collected an impressive number of N.C. Wyeth’s masterpieces, and he’ll be showing them off as part of the Brandywine River Museum of Art Antiques Show.
The show runs from May 24th to the 27th, including a special presentation by Allen on Saturday morning. The rest of the time, you can explore the collections of 26 highly regarded antique dealers, including rugs and furniture, needlework, and porcelain. Bring some cash along to grab a drink from the bar as you enjoy live music, both offered from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday through Monday.
