Each December, A Longwood Christmas brings the festive vibes to Longwood Gardens, and this year is no different. Now through January 6th, the gardens transform into a sparkling winter wonderland. There’s just one new aspect of A Longwood Christmas this year, the theme. It’s “Tree Reimagined,” which means you’ll see a collection of avant-garde holiday trees sprinkled throughout the greenhouses.
Time-worn books, stained glass, and even birdhouses are a few of the materials that artists have enlisted to build unique holiday trees. Some stand on the ground, as you’d expect, while fir trees hang suspended in midair. Ogle the innovative holiday decorations inside, and then head outdoors to experience the more traditional display. The gardeners wrap trees and plants in twinkling lights, so drink in the festive sights as you listen to carolers or warm your hands around a crackling fire pit. Tickets to A Longwood Christmas are timed and cost $30 for adult non-members.
