Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts Hosts Eclectic Performances, Not Far From Meetinghouse

January 29, 2015

The care that went into designing the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts is evident in every performance here, whether you enjoy it in Verizon Hall or the Perelman Theater. Verizon Hall serves as the main stage, and its auditorium can hold up to 2,500 audience members. All are able to sit comfortably in red mahogany seats, lined up in rows between adjustable panels that ensure optimal acoustics.

Meanwhile, in the smaller Perelman Theater, up to 650 spectators enjoy performances on the rotating stage. This theater hosts mostly chamber music, dramas, and dance performances, whereas the larger Verizon Hall holds larger shows. The Philadelphia Orchestra resides at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, but the center also attracts traveling companies like the Pennsylvania Ballet. From jazz quartets to family-friendly performers, the Kimmel Center offers something for almost everyone near Meetinghouse.
