If you were to sum up the biggest accomplishments of the Delaware Art Museum’s curators, it would be that they snagged works by both international and hyperlocal masters. The museum boasts a bevy of works by British Pre-Raphaelite artists, urban landscape paintings by John Sloan, and pieces from Wilmington-born Howard Pyle, along with other American Illustrators.
Come and check out the collection for free on Sundays between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. or Thursdays between 4 and 8 p.m. The collection encompasses more than just works from the aforementioned categories, so there’s plenty to see. Feel free to stop by the Thronson Cafe for a light bite and some coffee or the Museum Store for a card or a gift while you’re at the Delaware Art Museum.
